Ocean City, MD Fire Dept responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on August 20, 2010. According to news reports, an 11-year-old Maryland boy was attempting to cross Coastal Highway when he was struck by a vehicle. The boy was treated at the scene by Ocean City paramedics and was transported via Maryland State Police helicopter to the Johns Hopkins Pediatric Center in Baltimore.
