Sub-4-Second Porsche 911 Turbo Available Now

Today is chock full of luxury car news. The 2007 911 Porsche Turbo is now at North American dealerships. This Turbo is the first based on the new 911 platform that launched at the end of 2005. There are a number of 911 models already on sale, and a Targa – a glassed roof edition – is still in the works.

Porsche is claiming the new 911 Turbo reaches 60 mph in less than four seconds. That’s Ferrari fast. And for a sticker of $122,900, it better be. Of course, the 911 Turbo is still about $70,000 less than a Ferrari F430 — that’s enough to buy yourself a Porsche Cayenne SUV to haul the kids with money left over to pay for gas.

Even though few of our readers will ever buy a 911 Turbo, it’s of interest because it is the latest vehicle we’ve seen offering “cheap” speed, whether it's in this Porsche, a new Corvette Z06 or a Ford Shelby GT500. Basically, you can now buy racecar performance in daily driver packaging. Click below for more exterior and interior shots.
