Junior Seau Drives SUV Off Cliff After Being Released From Jail Report Junior Seau Junior Seau Junior Seau was arrested for domestic violence in Oceanside, California early Monday, hours before he drove his car off a cliff in nearby Carlsbad.
The domestic disturbance began when the police were called to his residence to investigate a report of an assault late Sunday night.
The victim was Seau's 25-year old girlfriend, who had sustained minor injuries that didn't require medical treatment.
The woman told police that Seau assaulted her during a verbal argument, but Seau wasn't at the residence when the police were called.
However, he agreed to return home after speaking to police on the scene.
He was arrested at 12:20 a.m. Monday, after returning, and charged with spousal assault with injury, police said. He was released on bail, police said.
At some point later Monday, Seau drove his white Cadillac SUV off a cliff that landed on the beach at Carlsbad, the authorities said.
Police are investigating what caused the incident, but he was the only person in the car.
He was taken to nearby Scripps La Jolla Hospital for treatment."
